Accounts and sign-in

Abacus has three apps, and which one you use depends on your role:

AppAddressWho uses it
Trainermy.abacus.training/<your-school>Students (and instructors who want to see what students see)
Managementmanage.abacus.trainingInstructors and administrators
Authoringadmin.abacus.trainingAdministrators who write rules and recipes

For students

Your instructor gives you a link like https://my.abacus.training/brainstorm and two things:

  • a login — eight digits, for example 09164287
  • a password — for example N7kp-4Wqx

Type the login exactly as written, including any leading zero. The login is a random number, not your name, so it is safe to write on a card.

After you sign in, open Account (the person icon) to change your password or get a new random login.

For instructors

In the management app, Students → Create student makes the account and shows the login and password once:

Shown once

The password is stored only as a one-way hash, so it cannot be shown again. Copy it before closing the dialog. If it is lost, use Reset password — the old password stops working and a new one is shown once.

  • Reset password also signs the student out everywhere.
  • Disable stops a student signing in and ends their sessions; Enable restores them.
  • Instructors manage students. Administrators additionally manage instructors, and the trainer itself in the admin app: its content (presets) and its look (themes: name, logo and colour).

If someone is locked out

There is no email or phone recovery. Ask the next person up: an instructor resets a student, an administrator resets an instructor.
